Experience and Accolades:

  • Russell has worked as an Activity Leader and Manager, working with children aged 8-17 at one of England’s top summer language schools for international students. He has also worked as a voluntary English mentor abroad, for students aged 13-17 on a different language project.
  • For over 2 years, Russell has tutored students between the ages of 11-18, in a range of subjects including Science and Maths at a variety of levels.
  • Russell has also been keen to aid prospective medical students, where he has visited schools and helped run workshops to allow less privileged students prepare the medical school admissions tests and interview process to study at the top medical schools in the UK.
  • Prior to starting at medical school, Russell has worked as a Healthcare Assistant in a busy London hospital, where he was part of an important team to care for patients with advanced illnesses.
  • Russell has helped start new societies at Imperial College, one of which is the Endocrinology Society, where students can get involved from tutorials for younger students to research projects, and is part of a research programme himself.
  • Russell has represented Imperial College on an exchange visit to a Singaporean medical school to experience their healthcare system, and provide feedback for possible new implementations in his medical school curriculum.

Aside from Work:

  • Russell enjoys the multicultural aspect at university, and has led the production of one of the biggest student-run cultural shows in UK universities, running for the last 25 years.
  • Sport is an important part in Russell’s extracurricular life, being involved in football, hockey and table tennis at both school and university.
